Kayany Foundation was established to bring education to the most vulnerable refugee children. In 2013, we partnered with the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs and began building portable school campuses (GHATA) in Syrian refugee camps. This allowed us to secure access to formal education for thousands of children in the Bekaa Valley. Kayany schools are safe and clean learning environments that offer one meal a day and an escape from the difficulties of settlement life. In addition, the schools offer psychosocial support to both our students and their families. Kayany also runs two all-girls secondary schools that were established in partnership with Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousefzai. In 2017,  Kayany Foundation will join efforts with three local NGOs to implement the Khouyout community centers and schools in partnership with Expertise France and the support of the European Union.
