Born in Damascus, Syria
In her commitment to the promotion of literacy and education to the Syrian refugee children, she founded the Kayany Foundation in 2013. Nora Joumblatt established the Beiteddine Art Festival in the midst of the Lebanese Civil War. She is also Chair of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon for the period of 2016 to 2018. Her work on the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage spans many years, she is an Executive Board Member of the Lebanese National Heritage Foundation since 2005 and of the Shouf Biosphere Cedar Reserve. Nora Joumblatt is also a member of the Board Trustees of the Samir Kassir Foundation for the freedom of the press in the Arab world.
